Comic Conundrum

Now that I have overcome my fear of the forthcoming comic convention, I must tackle a slightly less-vital but crucially important task: selecting the events to attend.

Leafing through the long list of panels, exhibitions, and other elements of convention panoply, it is clear that tough, merciless decisions will have to be made. There’s no room for fat or gristle here. I need to cut down to the meat, the rare bloody organs- no offal, only the best cuts for this strange trip.

Some of the tastier victuals:

  • The Watchmen, Terminator Salvation, and Friday the 13th Panel:
I don’t care much (at all) about the third film but I’m interested in hearing what Dave Gibbons and McG have to say about The Watchmen and the new Terminator film, respectively.
  • Gabe and Tycho Spotlight:
I like Penny Arcade. I think this could be a fun panel.
  • Robot Chicken:
How can this not be good?
  • Start Trekkin’:
From the description: “Start Trekkin’, simply, performs
improvised skits based on the original Star Trek series.” Even if it’s bad, it’ll be good, maybe better.
  • Torchwood:
Frankly, I’m not really interested in this at all but my sister is.
  • The Venture Bros.:
Who wouldn’t want to meet The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend?
  • Fringe:
I like the show. The panel could be decent.

There’s my short-list. As you can see, even in this clipped state, it could still take to some cleaving down. Just a little time left but my knives are sharp. There’s still work to be done.

EDIT: I totally forgot about Yatterman which is also on my short list menu. I forgot because, perhaps, it didn’t appear (or I missed it) in the event list I was referencing. What’s not to love about giant robots?
